israel

nope, you´re still missing the point.

If National Geographic said they´ve uncovered the remnants of the Etruscans and that they were establishing their ancient homeland somewhere near Rome; you´d never hear the end of it on the news, except for one thing --- they couldn´t say it was the first time or the only time in history that a dead nation came back to life. Israel was the first and as far as I know, the only, that it´s happened to in history.

That´s what´s remarkable.

Now throw in the ´story´ that it was predicted.

Now control the threads of history that ensure that a remnant survives and returns.

Set up the wars and political weaknesses and strengths that counter-balanced to bring nationhood about.

Add in the antisemitism that constantly wore down on the remnants.

Add in the survivability of a small nation surrounded by enemies.

At the very least we have a geo-political anomaly. Unremarkable? Hardly.

Leaving out Biblical explanations -- then what would explain it?
