2 witnesses

Not that it makes any real difference; but I have a different take on who the two witnesses are.

I've heard that the Two will be a repeat of an earlier appearing. I don't think a 'private' appearance has the same meaning or purpose that a 'public' one would have...the characters would not have to be the same, unless the message and its purpose would be the same, in both instances... I don't think they are...

The transfiguration persons, I think represented the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (Elijah). Jesus would be the fulfillment of them both. Therefore: the visitation.  Primary -- a validation of the culmination of prophecy. Secondarily -- a validation to Yashua of who He was...

And before a major chastisement was started, usually a warning prophet was sent, calling for a return or repentance...That is the major propose of the two witnesses; a call to return to God, and to reject the World system.  Primarily -- a call to the nation of Israel to accept the messiah they rejected. And secondarily -- a fulfillment of prophecy...

As for the End Times' two witnesses: only one person resurrected has a glorified body yet, and thatīs Jesus. (Even the raised Lazarus didnīt yet have one. This wonīt happen until the Call Up.)  The ONLY two people who havenīt yet died (and yet will at the Beastīs orders) are Enoch and Elijah.
They both were caught up into heaven, alive and in body...This time when they're killed, after three days (in imitation of Yashua -- and in a more generic sense -- the hope of all martyred Believers), they will then ascend to heaven in resurrected bodies...

Remember, at this time, the demons released from the pit will be about. These demons Enoch has had conversations with and knows them by face and name. Who better to deal with them?

And the curses of the two witnesses are in line with what Elijah has already done... The Moses plagues are actually duplicated in the vial, bowl, and trumpet judgements...

These two are most likely: Elijah for his resistance to false priests in his time, and Enoch for his dealings with the Watchers in his time...
The spiritual outgrowths of those two groups (the Human religions, and the Demonic ones) which will reflect the spirit of the age at the time of their witnessing, also should determine the type of prophets to expect...
