Faith

I guess itīs not easy figuring out what Godīs purpose is in the fine details rather than the large picture.
If He wrote in the sky in flaming letters what He wanted, and updated it for everyone, every minute, and gave full explanations; there wouldnīt be much room to exercise Faith in this dispensation. (Perhaps at the end of the 1000 years, when revolt strikes again, it will be in spite of having everything spelled out; but for now, in the time of Grace, the Grace thatīs given in one form is Faith. That operates in the face of all evidence (except His word in the Gospel) that He doesnīt care.).
Because thatīs the root of the Gospel, the revolutionary thing that was preached -- God was so above, and so unknowable, and so removed; that He had to come to us in person and tell us He wants to be thought of and related to as our Father.
Expect firmness for our benefit. Expect hard lessons to make us into what we should be. Expect that itīs done out of extreme love, and since Heīs the only One who knows what every ramification of everything that happens is for, our job is to trust and do what we can to follow what He would expect.
Heīs not a candy store or instant lottery, thatīs for afterwards, and all this is done.

Sometimes itīs the essential unasked things that are done for you, without you even knowing. If you had known, would have been begging for; but since theyīre already answered, you donīt even realize it.

And if the time of miracles increase, so too the power of the demonic. Nothing to be eager to see (except that it means that finally the end is nearer.).

I can īhopeī that the cop doesnīt pull me over. But itīs an unreasonable expectation if I donīt have licence plates. Then youīre counting on luck or fate or chance to save your ass. Far too many do.

I agree, hope is looking from a viewpoint, mired in shit, trying to get to dry ground.
Moving from a negative circumstance, to one of beauty.
But unfounded hope is just like wishing, and as you say, just as useful/useless.

Without Faith, you have nothing to justify your hope. Faith is the guarantee of your Hope.

Hope is the expectation of what your Faith promises.
